# What your organisation can see

What an admin can and cannot look at, said plainly, without frightening anybody.

7 screens, about three minutes. Pictures, almost no words.

## It is not your account.

*Picture: One large box labelled your work account.*

Your employer owns it and pays for it.

## Two machines, two rules.

*Picture: A house shape labelled home and a larger box labelled work, with a laptop in each.*

One is yours. One is somebody else’s, lent to you.

## There are two lists.

*Picture: Two columns, one headed can look and one headed cannot without a reason, with three rows in each.*

Most people assume everything is on the first one.

## Looking leaves a mark.

*Picture: A box labelled a request with an arrow through a box labelled a reason into a box labelled your files.*

It is recorded, and somebody has to justify it.

## Ask to read it.

*Picture: A dashed frame labelled written down somewhere holding one green box labelled the policy.*

You are allowed. It is usually duller than you fear.

## Do today

Search your intranet for the words acceptable use and see what comes back.
