# What a ready-made agent is

Somebody else already made it, gave it a job, and pointed it at some knowledge.

7 screens, about three minutes. Pictures, almost no words.

## A word doing too much work.

*Picture: One large box labelled an agent.*

In Microsoft 365 it has a narrow meaning.

## Three things, always.

*Picture: A cut-away box labelled an agent holding three boxes: a job, some knowledge, some limits.*

Take one away and it is just a chatbot.

## Like a temp who was briefed.

*Picture: Two panels. On the left a person labelled a new starter. On the right a person labelled a temp who knows the filing.*

Same person, told what the job is first.

## Somebody built it.

*Picture: Four boxes in a row labelled built by Microsoft, built by your organisation, built by you, bought in.*

Ready-made ones come from Microsoft.

## It is not accountable. You are.

*Picture: A box labelled the agent with an arrow to a box labelled a result and an amber box beneath labelled a person is still accountable.*

Nothing about an agent moves that.

## Do today

Open Copilot at work and look at what is listed under agents or tools.
